Each year, the Met Gala is expected, just to discover the crazy outfits chosen by the stars. And this year, they have again competed with originality to dazzle photographers on the red carpet.
All occasions are good to bring out the most beautiful evening dress on the red carpet. But Met Gala is synonymous with originality. Each year, the big charity event organized for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York has a theme, which allows the stars to let go completely and leave aside, for one evening, the fashion trends of the day.
This year’s theme was Camp: Notes of Fashion. The “Camp” style has its origins in the Louis XIV period and symbolizes theatricality, eccentricity and assumed positions. The stars have (almost all) respected the dresscode.
Met Gala 2019: the queens of the podium
Every year at the Met Gala, some celebrities stand out with outfits as original as they are breathtaking.
Lady Gaga arrives at the top of the rankings this year with not one but four extravagant outfits. The singer and actress has indeed offered a veritable parade of sumptuous creations signed Brandon Maxwell. The one who embodies the spirit of “Camp” since its inception, was unquestionably, the queen of the evening.
Sequins were waiting for you on the pink carpet of Met Gala. First with Céline Dion in a sublime fringed dress, then with Emily Ratajkowski in a dress with daring cutouts and finally with Jennifer Lopez who wore a dress with plunging neckline.
The couples of stars present at Met Gala
Beyond the extravagant outfits, the 2019 edition of Met Gala was placed under the sign of love. While some like Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady or Kim Kardashian and Kanye West regularly hit the red carpet two, others are more rare.
Noticing that Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas or Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, more in love than ever.
The star couple from Riverdale, Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart were also there and respected the theme to perfection.
